Personal

Why did you become a nurse practitioner? As someone managing a chronic medical condition myself, my aspirations regarding getting into the medical field began at a young age. It has always been my desire to help people get through some of the most challenging times of their lives and to see others battling with chronic illness thrive. I started out my journey as a medical surgical nurse and have since worked in various settings including home care, hospice, outpatient bariatrics, ICS and group home settings, outpatient primary care, and more recently inpatient mental health. I have also spent a portion of my career trying to give back and helping educate future nurses through precepting, as a clinical instructor for a local community college, and teaching fundamental nursing and certified nursing assistant courses.

What are your interests outside of work? Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with family and friends and learning how to make new recipes. I also enjoy traveling and taking care of my health by exercising and getting outdoors.

Do you have any pets? I currently have a 2-month-old puppy named Fritz. He is a Golden Retriever and brings great joy to our family. He also keeps us on our toes!

What do you like to listen to or read? I like to listen to SEU and Hillson worship as well as other artists such as The Lumineers, Coldplay, and SZA. In addition, I love reading a good fiction novel about almost anything.
