Personal

Why did you become a therapist? I had dreamed of being a doctor almost my whole life (well- except when I was 7, and believed I could be a Dallas Cowboy Cheerleader). My senior year of high school, I took a psych class, and loved it. I had thought I would go into forensics (another passion of mine), but didn't want to go through all of the years of schooling to become a forensic psychologist. Little did I know that I would be in school for just as many years to become an LMFT (9 years!!!). No regrets though- I love what I do, and believe that what life had in store for me led me to where I am today!

What are your interests outside of work? Reading, spending time with my husband and two ‘kids’ (who are now adults), watching documentaries, and doing puzzles.

What is one thing you do daily that supports your mental and emotional well-being? I'm an introvert- so I really need to make sure that I get some quiet time to myself to recharge everyday- like plugging in your cell phone! It is something that I really have to prioritize.

What is one of your favorite quotes? "This life is mine alone, so I have stopped asking people for directions to places they have never been." ~ Glennon Doyle

Using Accelerated Resolution Therapy, with Crystal Clancy and Katy Strub

ART is a trauma therapy used to treat a number of mental health conditions. Trauma in the perinatal population is often under recognized and under treated. ART offers an effective and faster recovery than other treatment options.
