Experience

Jamie Horn (She/Her/Hers) knows that going to therapy can feel scary.  Jamie’s goal is to help you to feel seen and safe and to provide a space for you to experience freedom and healing so that you can be your authentic self.  She believes that we bring our whole selves to therapy, physical, mental, social, and emotions and that all of these things affect one another and our relationships. She also believes that our previous relationships have shaped who we are today and that understanding how they impacted us can help us become unstuck. 

Jamie has worked and volunteered in ministry most of her adult life.  She always respects the personal beliefs of each person's faith.  She is open to integrating faith into therapy if that is something you desire.

Jamie is married and has four children (all delivered by cesarean section).

Jamie works with individuals, couples and families, ages 12+. She sees clients in the office, via telehealth, and Walk & Talk sessions.

Education: BA in Elementary Education, with a specialty in Communication & literature, K-8.
Jamie is currently earning her Master of Arts in Marriage & Family Therapy at Bethel University, and completing her practicum hours at Iris Mental Health & Wellness (under the supervision of Crystal Clancy MA, LMFT, PMH-C).

Personal

Why did you become a therapist? I have worked and volunteered in student ministry for most of my life.  I found myself mentoring a lot of young women going through very difficult circumstances over the years.  I always felt like I was helping but that I could better help people find healing with education as a therapist. My personal experiences of entering parenthood have contributed to my interest in this perinatal mental health.

How do you recharge? My favorite way to recharge is by being near water.  My first choice would be to be near the ocean, but since that isn’t always possible in MN, swimming in our pool, or going to a beach is my favorite!  My favorite days are when I can watch the sunset there too.  

What is one of your favorite books? The Midnight Library by Matt Haig

Do you have any pets? Yes, we have a mini goldendoodle named Teek.  Teekvah means hope in Hebrew. We got him during the pandemic, and my husband named him that because he said, “we all need a little hope right now.” Here is a picture of him as a puppy.
